SIAS Adviser Reports Generator — User Manual

This tool automatically generates your class advisory reportorial documents — Dean's List, President's List, Top 10, and Delinquency Report — directly from your SIAS account. All documents are packed into a single ZIP file ready for submission.

Requirements

1. A modern web browser (Google Chrome recommended)
2. Valid SIAS instructor credentials
3. Your advisory class must already have grades encoded in SIAS
4. Stable internet connection

Step-by-Step Guide

Step 1 — Enter Your SIAS Credentials

Type your SIAS Username and Password in the fields provided. Use the eye icon beside the password field to show or hide your password. The tool will log into SIAS on your behalf to retrieve your advisory class data.

Step 2 — Select the Academic Period

Choose the correct semester and school year from the Academic Period dropdown. The list covers the current year and the two preceding years, for both First and Second Semesters.

Step 3 — Select Document Formatting

Choose the document template that matches your college or campus from the Document Formatting dropdown. Available options:

1. Autodetect — automatically selects the template based on the department assigned to your SIAS account (use this if your account has a department set)
2. Buhi Campus
3. College of Art and Sciences (CAS)
4. College of Computer Studies (CCS)
5. College of Engineering and Architecture (CEA)
6. College of Health Sciences (CHS)
7. College of Technological and Development Education (CTDE)
8. College of Tourism Hospitality and Business Management (CTHBM)

Step 4 — Generate & Download

Click the GENERATE & DOWNLOAD button. The tool will:

1. Log in to SIAS with your credentials
2. Fetch advisory class and grade data for the selected period
3. Load the document templates for your college
4. Generate all applicable reports for each of your advisory sections in parallel
5. Package everything into a single .zip file and download it automatically

A green status bar at the top of the form confirms success and shows how many sections were processed.

Generated Documents

For each advisory section, the tool produces up to four .docx files (only generated if there are qualifying students):

1. [Section]_DEANS_LIST.docx — students who qualified for the Dean's List, ranked by general average
2. [Section]_PRESIDENTS_LIST.docx — students who qualified for the President's List, ranked by general average
3. [Section]_TOP_10.docx — top 10 regular, non-delinquent students ranked by general average (ties are handled — more than 10 may appear if ranks are shared)
4. [Section]_DELINQUENT_LIST.docx — students with failing (5.0) or dropped (0.0 / DRP) subjects, listing each subject and grade

All files are saved inside a single ZIP archive named [YourCode]_ADVISORY_REPORTS.zip.

Troubleshooting

1. Login failed — Double-check your username and password by logging into the SIAS portal directly first.
2. Autodetect failed / No department assigned — Your SIAS account has no department set. Select your college manually from the Document Formatting dropdown.
3. No documents generated — There may be no qualifying students for any report, or grades have not been encoded in SIAS yet for the selected period.
4. Unexpected error — This is usually a temporary issue with the SIAS API. Wait a few minutes and try again, or contact your system administrator.
